P*rn Legend Rocco Siffredi Casts ‘Blue,’ Set in the World of Erotic Social Media
Rocco Siffredi, the retired global porn star whose compelling life story significantly inspired Netflix’s recent series “Supersex,” is set to star in the upcoming Italian drama titled “Blue.” This film is firmly situated within the rapidly evolving erotic social media landscape.
Currently, shooting is actively underway in the picturesque Marche region of Italy, where the film, according to its promotional materials, focuses on a young female student named Luce. She faces numerous “tough choices” as she skillfully navigates the often deceptive and challenging world of erotic websites and social media platforms.
This indie film marks the directorial debut of the talented first-timer Eleonora Puglia. Additionally, Italy’s PiperFilm is managing international sales and has plans to release “Blue” in Italy, further emphasizing the film's anticipated impact.
Siffredi, the legendary figure in the adult film industry, who has impressively made roughly 1,400 hardcore films throughout his prolific career, officially announced his retirement from performing in pornographic films in 2022.
Despite stepping back from being in front of the camera, he remains active in the industry by continuing to direct and produce a variety of adult movies.
His Budapest-based company, Rocco Siffredi Production, which is known for housing the innovative Siffredi Hard Academy, is widely celebrated and touted as the world’s first “university of porn,” providing education and training for aspiring adult film professionals.
Outside of the porn sphere, Siffredi has previously showcased his acting talents by starring in two notable arthouse films directed by the renowned French auteur Catherine Breillat, namely “Romance” (1999) and “Anatomy of Hell” (2004). Additionally, he has appeared in a number of Italian films, with his most recent role being in Marco Risi’s festive Christmas comedy titled “Natale a 5 stelle.”
Siffredi was featured in the documentary “Rocco,” directed by Thierry Demaiziere and Alban Teurlai, which was shown at the 2016 Venice Film Festival. The film “Supersex” premiered at the 2024 Berlin Film Festival before being released on Netflix.
It starred Alessandro Borghi as Siffredi, Jasmine Trinca as the fictional Lucia, Adriano Giannini as Rocco’s half-brother Tommaso, and Saul Nanni as young Rocco.
