How Luna Star Learned She Was “Made For P*rn”

Most new Adult performers are nervous, which is pretty dang understandable if you ask me. Having sex under bright lights in front of a camera is no easy feat, and that’s without even thinking about making sure it looks good. Luna Star never felt like a newbie though, projecting confidence from her very first scene. Here’s the story of how your favorite Cuban bombshell first entered the industry

It was 2012 and Luna was broke. Despite working three jobs and going to school for business, she was still struggling to get by. “All I really learned in school was that you need money to make money” she laughs, recalling her education in Miami. She’d been short for rent one month when she overheard girls near her apartment talking about an opportunity to earn $500 in one night. All you needed to do was sign up to be an extra in a movie and be comfortable showing your tits to the camera. Well, Luna had just gotten implants and had been showing them off at Miami beach for free anyway, so that sounded like a good opportunity. Before she knew it, she was heading to a big porn company sponsored party to get her $500 and show off her new assets.

What started as a strategy to earn some quick cash quickly awoke a passion in Luna. “I’ve always been really into the camera; I love production and all of that stuff” she shares, remembering how shocked she was at the size of the set. She’d always pictured porn as little amateur sex tapes, not big budget movies with a whole cast and crew. The music was pumping, drinks were flowing, and Luna was immersed in a sea of sexual energy and Miami party culture. “I was so blown away,” she remembers “Even before we started I already knew I liked it.” In that moment, she wasn’t just making money, she was getting a peak into an industry she’d never fully understood before.

Just like Riley Ried before her, Luna’s first time on set just happened to be for a club scene with JMac in Miami (although this scene in particular was a threesome). While other girls danced and partied in the background, Luna, fascinated with production, stood behind the camera watching the scene unfold. She doesn’t pull any punches when describing what she saw.

“It was the most horrible threesome I’ve ever seen in my life [...] I’d never done porn before, but I could just tell it was bad.”

Most people would have held their tongues and stayed humble in that moment. After all, it was her first day on a porn set ever and she’d never even been a model before let alone an adult performer. Luna isn’t most people, though, so she said something. “I remember going to the camera guy and I was like ‘What are these guys doing? This is horrible! Who’d watch this!?’” As you can imagine, he was a bit taken aback. But when he asked “Oh, you think you can do better?” Luna didn’t relent. “Yeah, I can definitely do better than just laying down on the couch!” she remembers saying, and then, as she puts it now, the rest was history!

Luna can’t help but be a little cocky when she looks back on her first scene. She jumped right into a foursome in the middle of the club, sucking cock and shamelessly putting on a show for the camera. “As soon as we start the BJ, I remember the camera guy stops and looks at me and told me ‘Are you sure you’ve never done this?’” She had an intuitive understanding of the medium, knowing how to open up for the camera and perform actively instead of just having sex and being recorded. “I was a natural!” she brags, and even goes as far as to compare herself flatteringly to her costar. Sure, the other girl was much more experienced, but as Luna tells it she was obviously just there for the money.

“Even though I was doing it for the money I also genuinely liked it. I love being in front of the camera.”

Well, she must have really loved it, because after that Luna never went back. Now, she’s graduated from Miami parties to the bigger, shinier world of LA Adult, and couldn’t be happier.

“I love being in production; I love [...] to show up to set, to get [my] makeup done. They treat you like a star.”

But it’s not just for the money or the fame, she insists. She just genuinely loves the work, and imagines herself in porn far into the future. Even in her sixties, she muses, if people still want to see her perform she’d love to keep doing it. “One day I’d like to be behind the camera, too, but I’d still like to be in front.” Even from that very first day, she always knew the truth: “I was meant to do porn.”
