Our Favorite SOS Apps for Safer Adult Content Shoots & Creator Meet-Ups

Safety Tip: Let them know, before you go.

As self-made porn breaks past the success of traditional studio films, more and more creators are planning their own shoots and creating content.

With this comes some additional safety measures to help keep you safe and keep your loved ones informed when you’re working. Heading to a hotel room or the home of another creator you only know from X can be dangerous if you’re not properly vetting. But venturing on your own is also how the majority of creators are creating content, so why not download one of these apps to add an extra layer of safety to your adult content shoots.

In general, it’s a good idea to have an emergency app installed on your phone, just in case you find yourself in a difficult situation. These applications allow you to quickly notify friends or family members when you’re feeling unsafe, and they can also facilitate direct contact with emergency services when needed.

Some types of smartphones have these important features built into the operating system, so it’s definitely worth checking to see if yours already includes such options. If your device does not have these functionalities, be sure to check out these highly recommended apps, all of which are conveniently available for both Android and iOS platforms.

  1. ICE, which stands for In Case of Emergency, allows you to send a message and your GPS location to selected contacts when you want your friends or family to keep tabs on your whereabouts. You can also set the message to be delayed, so say, if you don’t come back from your content shoot by nightfall, that’s when they’ll get the message.

  2. React Mobile does the same thing as ICE, but also has an SOS Help Me button that notifies your pre-chosen contacts via email and text, and if you choose, posts a message to Facebook and X. At the same time, the app automatically contacts local emergency services adding an extra layer of safety in the event your shoot goes south.

  3. Siren GPS won’t contact your friends and family, but with a push of a button, will alert emergency services and provide them with your location. You can also set up a personal profile with relevant information that is then passed on to the authorities in case of emergency. This can include medical conditions and emergency contact info.  The app also gives you the option of calling the fire department, an ambulance, or the police.

You can also show certain important information on your lock screen specifically designed to be utilized in case of a situation in which you might be unable to provide vital details about yourself to emergency services. For instance, you can write something like, “In case of emergency, please call [name of your partner]” and then include their phone number for easy access. Additionally, if you have a specific medical issue – such as a severe allergy, epilepsy, or any other critical condition – it can be very helpful to include the pertinent information right there on your lock screen to ensure it is seen by first responders.

How to set a lock screen message will vary depending on what model phone you have. Safety is key when venturing to shoots alone, so be sure to consider one of the apps listed as a way to stay safe when building your content library.
